Qurat Baig graduated with a degree in Pharm. D from Baqai Medical University (BMU), Karachi, Pakistan in 2013. After which she continued her education in the field of Biomedical Science (Cellular Pathology) from Middlesex University, London, UK that resulted in her Master’s in 2014. In the past, Ms. Baig has worked as a Lecturer where she worked for the School of Pharmacy and taught various courses including,

Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Physiology and Pathology. Ms. Qurat moved to Canada in 2018 and started working as a Pharmacy Assistant at Loblaws Pharmacy, ON. She is trained to work on Kroll software and has widespread knowledge of data entry, prescription filling, inventory management, controlled drug substances, compounding as well as providing excellent customer service while maintaining the utmost confidentiality of patient’s information.

Currently, Ms. Qurat Baig is working for Lakehead University as a Laboratory Instructor in the Department of Chemistry and Sustainability Sciences. Her core responsibilities include but not limited to, teaching and conducting labs of four chemistry courses (General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry) in each term, managing the laboratory equipment and supplies, maintaining the chemical inventories, and assisting graduate students in their research projects.

Ms. Baig’s expertise extended to working with Analytical instruments such as, ATR Spectrometer, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, Vernier Mini Gas Chromatograph and High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC).

At present, Ms. Baig is also employed at Canadian Career Education College as a Pharmacy & Clinical Lab Instructor and is always excited to bring her practical as well as academic experience to the classroom. In terms of her academic accolades, she is a Gold-medalist from BMU and has received several scholarships and distinctions throughout her undergraduate and graduate education.
